Sony Computer Entertainment has just released a fresh batch of full HD screenshots from Sucker Punch Productions’ much anticipated sequel, InFamous 2.

While not really spilling any new gamplay information, the screenshots do showcase the increased level of detail in the game, especially in the rendering of hero/anti-hero Cole McGrath. With these images coupled with the recently released gameplay footage as evidence, InFamous 2 seems to be shaping up nicely.

Coming to PS2 and PSP later this year

SCEE has announced that a new Jak & Daxter game will release later this year on PSP and PS2.

Titled Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier, the game picks up from where the original trilogy left off, with Jak and furry friend Daxter teaming up with Kiera on her quest to become a Sage and save their world from the threat of darkness.

As well as the series’ usual on-foot platforming, the game will also include five different aircraft allowing players to blast airborne enemies and battle sky pirates with your powerful Gunstaff – a brand-new weapon that can transform into other new weapons.

The Lost Frontier is currently being developed by High Impact Games, the team that previously developed Secret Agent Clank.

Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier releases this Autumn, and just in case you were wondering, this isn’t an April Fools joke. Check out the first screens below.

It’s another Guitar Hero. It’s got Metallica in it. It’s going to rock.

But just in case that wasn’t good enough, Activision’s signed up Motörhead vocalist and bassist, Lemmy, to star alongside Lars, James, Kirk and Robert.

Lemmy says, “It’s great to be in Guitar Hero with all these famous people and I’m really pleased to be in it with Metallica…but James is still taller than me.” One day Lemmy, one day…

And just in case you’re not a fan of Metallica (if that’s even possible), Guitar Hero Metallica will also feature tracks from Alice In Chains, Bob Seger, Foo Fighters, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Queen.

Check out the latest screens below showing the band in action. Game’s out this spring.

Heading to 360, PS3 and PC

Capcom has confirmed that Dead Rising 2 is in development for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

The sequel to the 1.5 million-plus selling Dead Rising, Dead Rising 2 will take the franchise to a new level of zombie-killing fun with tens of thousands of zombies, the all new gambling paradise of Fortune City to explore and conquer plus a host of new in-game objects that can all be used as deadly weapons to stave off the zombie assault.

Dead Rising 2 is set several years after the infamous zombie invasion of Willamette. Unfortunately, the zombie virus was not contained at the conclusion of Dead Rising, spreading unchecked throughout the United States and Dead Rising 2 depicts a country where zombie outbreaks continue to strike.

Dead Rising 2 is being developed in partnership with up and coming Canadian developer Blue Castle Games. A number of members from the original Dead Rising team will be working alongside Blue Castle Games throughout the development process, including Capcom’s global head of research and development, Keiji Inafune, who as the game’s producer will play an active role in the project. A release window was not disclosed.

Capcom has stated that further details concerning the story and gameplay of Dead Rising 2 will be made available shortly, but in the meantime you can check out the first official screens below or watch the first ever footage on D+PAD TV.

SEGA has released four new screenshots from its upcoming light-gun shooter, The House of the Dead: Overkill.

The House of the Dead: Overkill is a pulp-style take on the classic SEGA light-gun shoot ‘em up series, which follows the adventures of a young Agent G and “hard-boiled bad-ass” Agent Washington as they investigate stories of mysterious disappearances in small-town Louisiana. We’re willing to bet that those zombies have something to do with it, but maybe that’s just us.

House of the Dead: Overkill launches in Europe on February 13th exclusively for Wii.

THQ has confirmed to D+PAD that 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand will be releasing across Europe next month.

The sequel to 2005’s Xbox/PS2 shooter 50 Cent: Bulletproof is set to launch on February 20th on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Pitching players into the might of World War II’s Pacific conflict, Battlestations: Pacific is set to deliver “intense, action-packed combat and strategic warfare on an extraordinary scale” and features two distinctly different single-player campaigns – a US Campaign that puts players in command of the US fleet through The Battle of Midway to Okinawa, or take control of the Imperial Japanese fleet with the unique chance to fight at Pearl Harbor before attempting to change the course of history and take full control of the Pacific Ocean. Players can also take the battle online with an enhanced multiplayer, offering five new and innovative co-op and team-based modes.

Battlestations: Pacific releases on Xbox 360 and PC in spring, and you can also check out a new gameplay video over at D+PAD TV.
