Square Enix have just released a new trailer of upcoming PC/PS3 MMO – Final Fantasy XIV.

Intended to be aired at the Tokyo Games Show on the 16th September 2010, the trailer opens with opens with a shot of an impressively large map before moving on to glimpses of the land of Eorzea, a smattering of dazzling cutscenes, a sizeable chunk of gameplay footage and certainly gives Final Fantasy fans plenty chew over.

On this evidence, we’re hopeful that Final Fantasy XIV may well succeed in bringing a meaty MMO experience to consoles – let’s just hope that Square Enix can hit the sweet spot with the subscription model.

Final Fantasy XIV is due to be released on PC at the end of September 2009 and Playstation 3 in March 2011.
