Extended Darksiders Demo announced

In a move similar to Microsoft’s Fable II Episode 1 give-away, THQ have today announced that a 90 minute demo of the recently released (and generally well recieved) Darksiders will soon be arriving on PSN and Xbox Live. Launching on the 25th February 2010, the demo will contain the entire first dungeon from the game – the Twilight Cathedral, featuring dozens of puzzles, pieces of equipment to discover and boss battles.

Establishing a new franchise is never easy, and we think this is probably a pretty good move by THQ – since launch, Darksiders has faced stern competition from the likes of Bayonetta and Dante’s Inferno and with big hitters such as God of War III around the corner, this is great method of getting the title into gamers’ living rooms. In an increasingly competitive market place, we’d bank on extended demos becoming a much more common occurrence. Is this is good thing? Let us know!

I agree, I think that this is a really smart move by THQ as even if some gamers don’t buy the game and only download the demo, they’ll still be able to experience how great the game is and can talk about it with their friends thus creating a “buzz bubble” around the game.
