Mega Man 10 announced for WiiWare
Not content with pummelling gamers into submission with Mega Man 9, Capcom will be releasing the latest entry in the popular franchise on WiiWare early next year, Nintendo Power has revealed.
Mega Man 10 will feature a return to the 8-bit graphical style retro fans have come to adore, most notably from the well-respected classic Mega Man 2. The game will also feature new Robot Masters; the first revealed to be Sheep Man, an angry cloud with a penchant for floating in the air while raining down the lightning.
While Proto Man has been confirmed as a second playable character right off the bat, a third has been teased with no further details leaked. That said, it’s been reported that the story will focus on the three heroes trying to find parts for a vaccine to Robotenza, a disease that ceases up any robots unfortunate enough to find themselves infected.
Those who found Mega Man 9 hard going (and let’s be honest, who didn’t?) will be relieved if Nintendo Power’s hint at an easy mode turns out to be true. That said, it’s unlikely the latest instalment will stray too far from its classic heritage meaning we can look forward to the usual trial and error of discovering which boss is vulnerable to which weapon.
While only announced for the Wii thus far, Mega Man 10 is certain to release on Live Arcade and the Playstation Network just as its predecessor did in 2008.
