Those already playing the killer sequel to Assassin’s Creed will have just a short wait for more content, Ubisoft has confirmed.

The first download is entitled Battle of Forli. Likely centred on the siege of the Italian town depicted in the game, expect this episode to swoop its way onto PSN and 360 Marketplace in January.http://www.dpadmagazine.com/?p=6095&preview=true

The second is called Bonfire of the Vanities, which was an actual event that took place in Florence, where churchgoers would burn items such as books and paintings deemed to be sinful. How this weaves into the story should become clear in February when the download hits.

Ubisoft Montreal, the team behind Assassin’s Creed 2 has a reputation for doing its homework and developing much of its content with historical accuracy, so it’s fair to assume that these packs will feature some level of truth to them, albeit with the same videogame conventions we’re used to.

Developed as significant add-ons, the publisher has suggested you keep around 2 gigs of memory free for both packs should you be eager to extend your gameplay experience. While a price point has yet to be announced, the size of each download means they may cost more than the going rate of $10 or £6.50 for standard add-ons. Still, with sales figures beating Altair’s blockbuster into submission, more Assassin’s Creed 2 can only be a good thing.
