Just Cause 2 landing in March
The tropical adventure will be parachuting its way to US shelves on March 23rd followed by the UK and Australia come the 26th, Square Enix has announced.
Developed by Avalanche Studios, Just Cause 2 is an open-world sandbox title following the exploits of suave thrill-seeking agent, Rico Rodriquez. Having been sent to Panau Island to face his mentor from the first game, Rico will be tasked with ridding the place of a typically evil despot in the process. The grapple and parachute make a welcome return and if the developers are to be believed the sequel will feature a greater level of variety this time around.
The original Just Cause was generally considered a fun but flawed effort, averaging an Xbox 360 score of 73 on Metacritic. With new weapons such as laser-sighted rockets and new vehicles including a jumbo jet, Just Cause 2 looks to be upping the ante in every way, hopefully resulting in a more enjoyable package overall.
With a reported 400 square miles of land featuring snow, jungle and sand to play around in, 2010 may have just got a whole lot bigger. Look for the D+PAD review when the game hits early next year…
