As if the three new Hero games revealed earlier today weren’t enough to satisfy your inner-rocker, Activision has reportedly confirmed to Joystiq that Guitar Hero: Van Halen is also in production and due for release later this year.

The game, which follows on from Guitar Hero: Aerosmith and Guitar Hero: Metallica, is said to include Van Halen’s “greatest hits” as well as guest acts such as Queen, Weezer, blink-182, The Offspring, Queens of the Stone Age, and more. Activision couldn’t confirm exactly which tracks will be featured.

Guitar Hero: Van Halen is perhaps the worst kept secret this year, having been rumoured to be in production since early March, with the German ratings board USK adding weight to the rumours by rating the game in April. The game was later listed on Gamestop.com as being available for pre-order.
