Award-winning Dead Space developer EA Redwood Shores has been renamed Visceral Games, EA announced this morning.

The name change better reflects the studio’s “culture, identity and focus on creating intense action-oriented intellectual properties,” says EA, who also revealed that the studio were hard at work on two unannounced titles alongside Dead Space: Extraction and Dante’s Inferno.

“Action, intensity, excellence. It isn’t just in our DNA, it’s in our blood,” said Glen Schofield, VP and GM of Visceral Games. “For the past two years, we have adopted a new culture that prizes excellence above all else. Primal action is the beating heart of the studio and now our new name reflects that.”

He’s obviously already forgotten about The Godfather II

But what of these two as yet unannounced titles? Dead Space 2 to be shown at E3? We’d bet our bottom dollar.
