Wii MotionPlus to cost £25 in UK?

Nintendo’s Wii MotionPlus accessory certainly looks impressive, but if listings on various online retailers are to be believed, it’ll cost you a pretty penny when it launches in seven weeks time.

Though Nintendo are yet to officially announce a price point for the UK, GAME.co.uk, Play.com and Gameplay.com are currently listing the add-on as carrying an RRP of £24.99, while a Wii Sports Resort bundle, which contains the accessory plus the upcoming sequel to Wii Sports, is listed with an RRP of £49.99.

EA confirmed earlier this week that their Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 10 and EA SPORTS Grand Slam Tennis bundles will also carry an RRP of £49.99.

Given MotionPlus’s $19.99 price tag in North America, we’d be disappointed if Nintendo had settled on charging £25 for the accessory in the UK, albeit a little unsurprised. Nintendo recently revealed that the trade price for its Wii console would be increasing in the UK by around £19 due to the “severe and continuing depreciation of the pound”.

At the current exchange rate $19.99 converts to £13.66, almost half of the supposed RRP for the accessory.

Wii MotionPlus launches in the UK on June 12th. But will you be buying it?
