“It’s time for our industry to grow up” – David Cage
Talking about his upcoming PS3 title Heavy Rain in our exclusive interview (featured in the latest issue of D+PAD), Quantic Dream’s David Cage has stated that he feels it’s time for the games industry to “grow up”.
“I think it is time for our industry to grow up and explore new possibilities instead of redoing the same games with the same old concepts over and over again,” Cage said.
“I think our media is now mature enough to tell more personal stories, and I hope that more game designers will start talking about more personal things, because this is how other art forms reached maturity and more complex and interesting forms. This is probably my main expectation from next gen games. Rather than displaying more polygons or having a physics engine, they should start to offer meaning.”

That comment is pointing towards Nintendo, goodness I can’t stand those guys. They don’t know how to make good games, always redoing the same trash over and over:
Mario Parties, Mario games, Mario Karts for f** sake!
The same also goes to SEGA
You’re completely wrong, xino. Nintendo has been doing more to expand the industry than Sony or Microsoft. Just look at those idiots who hop on the Nintendo/Wii-bashing bandwagon. You know why they hopped on? Because Nintendo’s doing something different, and they don’t want it BECAUSE it’s different. Idiots.
