Codemasters’ FUEL gets new trailer and screens
Codemasters has released a brand new CGI trailer and screens of its upcoming “epic-scale open-terrain racer”, FUEL.
The new trailer introduces the game’s 5,000 square mile no-boundaries playfield (the largest ever racing environment in a videogame) and its extreme weather effects, including violent twisters that tear across the landscape. If you thought MotorStorm was extreme, you ain’t seen nothing yet.
“FUEL is set in an alternate present where the catastrophic affects of global warming have driven the population from great swathes of the United States” reveals Codemasters.
“Now, these ravaged wastelands play host to a new breed of racers as they compete in heart-pounding, no-holds-barred races. Bringing the vast, varied and open-ended landscape to life is a full day and night cycle and a dynamic weather system. Snow, rain, destructive tornados, sandstorms, thunderstorms, lightning strikes, and blizzards – players will need to react quickly and adapt racing strategies in the blink of an eye to cope with everything the world of FUEL throws at them.”
Take a look at the new screens below before heading over to D+PAD TV to check out the trailer.
FUEL launches on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Games For Windows this Summer. Mark it in your diaries – it’s going to be one to look out for.
