Atari has announced the return of Ready 2 Rumble, and released the first screens and footage to go with it.

Titled “Ready 2 Rumble Revolution”, Afro Thunder & co. are set to return to the ring next year exclusively on Wii, ten years after the franchise debuted on Dreamcast back in 1999.

Revolution is said to maintain all the humorous caricatures and fun boxing action that made Round 1 and Round 2 “knock-out best-sellers”, while the new “digitally sophisticated and visually stunning motion-controlled” game brings a new level of style and attitude to the boxing ring.

There’s also said to be a new roster of characters (though judging by the trailer, a couple of favourites will also be making a comeback) and “tons of outrageous special moves”, including moves from Kung Fu, Wrestling and other martial arts.
