SCEE has confirmed that LittleBigPlanet has been delayed worldwide and will no longer be releasing on October 24th. A new release date will be announced next week, though it’s rumoured that the game may not hit stores until November 14th.

The delay has been confirmed to be caused by a questionable song in the game. The track – as outlined in this forum post – contains wording from the Qur’an which could cause offence to Muslims.

“We have taken immediate action to rectify this” says Sony, “and we sincerely apologise for any offence that this may have caused.”

The slip is the latest in a long line from Sony, but hey, at least LittleBigPlanet’s worth waiting for. We feel your pain, but while you’re waiting for a new date, why not check out our review?
