Cliff Bleszinski: “We’re pushing the 360 with Gears of War 2”
There’s no denying that Gears of War 2 looks fantastic, but how much more can developers squeeze out of this generation of consoles?
That’s the question we put to Epic Games’ Cliff Bleszinski at a recent Gears of War 2 preview event, who had this to say:
“I think we’re pushing the 360. The system’s not going to get any more RAM or a faster processor, but at the same time that puts the impetus on our programmers and our artists to be smarter about what they work with.”
When asked whether Gears 3 could surpass GoW2’s visuals, he replied:
“If there’s a future product, I have a feeling it’ll probably be better than what we are doing, but whatever percentage that is remains to be seen. It’s amazing what programmers can do so I wouldn’t count our guys out yet.”
Gears of War 2 hits Xbox 360 on November 7th, and you can check out the full interview with Cliff here, and look out for our hands-on report with Gears of War 2 in the next issue of D+PAD, coming to www.dpadmagazine.com on October 14th.
