Design company creates chair out of recycled PS2s

A furniture company has designed the first ever chair made from recycled consoles.

The Reee chair, designed by Sprout Design Ltd. for Pli Design Ltd., has a plastic seat and back made entirely of recycled PlayStation 2 consoles, with around nine console casings used to produce each chair.

Alex Whitney, Pli’s design manager, said: “The simple idea behind the Reee chair is to produce a recycled furniture product in the UK that has style, function and durability but does not compromise its environmental credentials – so our customers don’t have to compromise theirs.”

So if you’re in the market for a new chair and fancy picking one up made from old PS2s, head over to Pli Design’s website.
