Final Fantasy XIII writer and director Motomu Toriyama has confirmed that FFXIII will not be releasing on Xbox 360 in Japan.

Speaking to Japanese magazine Dengeki PlayStation, Toriyama stated:

“There will absolutely not be an Xbox 360 version of Final Fantasy XIII for Japan.”

So there you go, FFXIII to be PS3-only in Japan. But considering the struggle Microsoft has faced in the Land of the Rising Sun, is it any real loss for the Western giants? Still, at least this guy will be slightly happier.

Final Fantasy XIII is due for release next year on PS3 and Xbox 360, though obviously not in Japan. Ok?
