House of the Dead: OVERKILL announced
SEGA has announced that a brand new House of the Dead will launch exclusively on Wii early next year.
In development by Headstrong Games, House of the Dead: OVERKILL is said to reinvent the classic light gun series with its “pulp funk” style and “gore-drenched over the top action”.
Once again cast as G, OVERKILL takes players back to when the agent was still fresh out of the academy, teaming up with “hard-boiled bad-ass” Agent Washington to investigate stories of mysterious disappearances in small-town Louisiana.
Keeping in with the Pulp Funk Horror theme, players will be able to use “Slow-Mofo Time” to make the perfect head-popping shot and “Evil Eye” that’ll send the whole environment up in flames.
“Paying homage to the pulp horror comics and films that inspired generations of gore fans, The House of the Dead: OVERKILL will expose gamers to a brand-new fleshy rollercoaster ride of revolting dismemberment,” commented Gary Knight, European Marketing Director at SEGA Europe. “This is the hardcore Wii title you’ve been waiting for.”
The House of the Dead: OVERKILL is out in early 2009 exclusively on Wii. We’re uploading the first trailer right now so be sure to keep an eye out for it on D+PAD TV, but in the meantime check out the first screens from the game below.
