MS: Wii Fit is a set of “digital bathroom scales”

During his Gamefest UK keynote speech, Xbox VP David Gosen told attendees that Wii Fit was just a set of “digital bathroom scales”.

Gosen was talking about how user interfaces were important to the industry, “whether it is cameras or motion sensitive controllers”, adding “or, in the instance of Wii Fit, digital bathroom scales”.

The pop at Nintendo came after warning attendees of “gimmicky” devices, stating that the industry will continue to see new user interfaces off the back of the roaring success of Wii and Guitar Hero.

With rumours still rife surrounding Microsoft’s motion control, is Gosen’s jeer at Nintendo somewhat hypocritical? Let us know what you think by leaving a comment.
