GTA IV PC to include Achievements?

Following on from yesterday’s announcement that Grand Theft Auto IV will be hitting PC this November, Rockstar has released the packshot showing it’ll be a part of the Games For Windows programme, with a LIVE logo placed in the upper right corner.

Games For Windows LIVE is a Microsoft campaign giving select titles access to the LIVE network and its associated features, including achievements and cross-platform online multiplayer. Previous games to have hit Games For Windows LIVE include Halo 2, Gears of War, Shadowrun and Universe At War: Earth Assault – all of which have included achievements.

Could GTA IV PC be shipping with achievements included as well as support for cross-platform online multiplayer, and was this part of the deal that landed Microsoft the exclusive GTA IV DLC? Will that exclusive content also be making its way over to the Games For Windows LIVE Marketplace that just so happens to be launching at the same time as the GTA IV PC conversion?

More on this story as it happens.
