Gears 2 gets family friendly

Gears of War 2 is to ship with a family-friendly filter to put concerned parents’ minds at ease, according to MCV.

When activated the filter will remove all bad language and replace blood with sparks. Of course, removing the violence from Gears is the equivalent to removing the voluptuous bits from Gemma Atkinson – it just wouldn’t be as good.

Still, the amount of underage kids that cut our COGs to pieces on a daily basis begs the question as to whether that many parents are really that bothered in the first place, and will the fact that their children will still be able to charge a chainsaw through an enemy’s body really relax those that are?

Gears of War 2 is out November 7th on Xbox 360. You might want to pre-order the Limited Edition while you still can.

Materialistic and meaningless censorship. It seems that as long as their isn’t red liquid, it’s not violent. Obviously curb stomping and beheading is equivalent to taking parts off a plastic doll.
