Left 4 Dead not coming to PS3 after all?

A rumour published in the latest Official PlayStation Magazine stating that zombie-laden shooter Left 4 Dead is being ported to the PS3 has been brutally beheaded by Valve’s Doug Lombardi today.

When cornered by IGN, Lombardi stated:

“There is no PS3 version of Left 4 Dead currently in production.”

Of course, there may still be a chance that development of a PS3 port could begin sometime in the future, but for now the hordes of Infected only plan to bring apocalyptic ruin to PCs and Xbox 360s across the globe.

Be sure to keep an eye out for the game when it launches this November, and whatever you do, don’t even think of running off to go on some crazy self-absorbed solo crusade against the legions of undead – you will die a horrible and grizzly death!

    This really doesn’t mean anything since if the game does come to PS3 it won’t be developed by Valve. EA will get one of their many othet studios to port the game and Valve will have nothing to do with it. Which is fine with me, I love playing The Orange Box and Valve had almost nothing to do with it’s development on the PS3.

    well, it don’t have to be them who makin it. as pointed by other folks, orange box was ported by some other guys. as long as it’s coming to pc who’d waste his time with 360 and ps3 controllers, mouce and keyboard baby. that’s how I do it..

    I think it could be successful on PS3. I mean, you could do up to 4 players- doesn’t necessarily have to be online. Me, like a lot of people, hate playing with strangers online. People are jerks online. 99.999% of the time I play single player and I love it! I have it for PC because I really hate XBOX. Never any good games and way too many problems with the console, and I hate playing online- but that’s more of an opinion. PS3 has way better games though.

    EA would definitely be a better choice to make the game. Valve has WAY too many glitches and bugs in their games. Left 4 Dead 2 is ridiculous with bugs and glitches. They rushed L4D2 and it shows. The First one was way better. Hopefully they won’t mess up Left 4 Dead 3 like they did with the second one.
